Indonesian Pavilion 2019
Participation
The Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia through Trade Attache Washington DC, ITPC Chicago, and ITPC Los Angeles participated in the 2019 Global Specialty Coffee Expo (GSCE) held at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Boston, Massachusetts, April 12-14, 2019.
The Indonesian Pavilion, located on booth 943, presents specialty coffee by the Indonesian Specialty Coffee Association (AKSI), CV Gayo Mandiri, PT Santiang Exports, PT Meukat Commodity Gayo, PT Perkebunan Nusantara XII, PT Gayo Bedetak Nusantara, Upnormal Coffee Roasters and Tentera Coffee Roasters with special events such as coffee cuppings.
Indonesian Coffee
Various specialty coffees that are presented include Sumatra Arabica Gayo, Lintong, Solok Minang, Kerinci, West Java Preanger, Toraja, Flores, Ciwidey, and Bali coffee. In this expo, the Indonesian Pavilion not only displays green beans, but also brands with various processed coffee variants, such as roasted whole bean, pour over coffee bags and single-serve pods.
The Indonesian Pavilion managed to record a potential transaction of more than USD 26 million during the exhibition and it is expected that the number will continue to grow. The buyers who transacted in the Indonesian Pavilion came from the U.S, the Netherlands, Russia, China, Switzerland, Peru, Paraguay, and Canada.
The GSCE 2019 expo was attended by 515 exhibitors from all over the world, and Indonesia was also represented by an independent participant, PT Sulotco Jaya Abadi (Kapal Api Group) which featured green bean and coffee derivative products, and Koperasi Arinagata from Aceh who was chosen as one of the fair trade ambassadors (fair trade).

Founded in Los Angeles by Michael, a 4th generation Indonesian, Tentera is an authentic, mission-based specialty coffee company.
Upnormal Coffee
Upnormal Coffee Roasters is dedicated to the natural and organic process for Indonesian coffee. Their Aceh Gayo coffee beans originally comes from Gayo Highland, Sumatra, Indonesia and has been awarded as Fair Trade Certified ™ From International Organization Fair Trade on May 27, 2010.
Santiang Exports
Craig Owen established Santiang Exports in 2005 as a foreign-owned Indonesian export company to provide a solid bridge of communication, experience, relationships and trust between global markets for Sumatran coffees.

Specialty Coffee Association
of Indonesia (SCAI)
In 2007, several Indonesia coffee farmer groups, exporters, roasters and retailers decided to performed a Specialty Coffee Association of Indonesia (SCAI) to improve and increase the quality of Indonesian Arabica coffee quality and quantity.
SCAI were founded in 2008 and its membership are open for individual, institutions and coffee community who deal with specialty coffee (farmerly only Arabica but later Fine Robusta also available) from Indonesia. Members are a uniquely diverse groups of farmers, buyers, roasters, exporters, retailers and individual/person who shares the same mission.
Meukat Komuditi Gayo
Based in Takengon, Aceh, Indonesia, Moukat Gayo works closely with farmers and cooperatives in the region and provides trainings for the growers to develop their cultivations, to increase quality and quantity productions.
Moukat holds ethical and sustainable values strongly and contributes 10% of their income to support environmental development programs in Takengon.
Perkebunan Nusantara XII
Perkebunan Nusantara XII is a part state-own enterprise and independent company. Based in Surabaya, East Java, it has 33 diverse plantations across the region from coffee, tea, cacao and rubber (raw) plants and employs thousands of farmers and staffs across the board.
